Scope and publisher
Effective October 11, 2026. This policy describes BibleNotebook for macOS and iOS, published by The Refuge Christian Center — Rev. Jay Werman. This app policy is separate from the privacy practices of websites and external services you choose to use.
Your notebook content
BibleNotebook stores your notes, sermon drafts, journal entries, tags, highlights, drawings, imported files, recordings, and preferences on your device. The app does not require a BibleNotebook account. Its current implementation does not include advertising, tracking SDKs, or a developer-operated service that uploads your notebook for analytics. Your writings may contain sensitive personal or religious information; you choose what to enter and share.
Optional iCloud synchronization
If you enable iCloud Drive synchronization, notebook data and attachments are sent to your Apple iCloud account so your devices can synchronize them. Apple provides that service under its own terms and privacy policy. Turning synchronization off does not automatically remove copies already stored in iCloud or on other devices.
Writing assistance and translation
The app’s local cleanup, tagging, and supported Foundation Models writing assistance operate on-device. Model-based features depend on compatible hardware and Apple Intelligence availability. Optional Apple system Writing Tools is off by default and is separate from the app’s on-device assistant. If you enable it, Apple may process requests using Private Cloud Compute under Apple’s policies. Leave it off for a strictly on-device writing preference. Apple translation may download language resources; supported translation tasks use Apple’s on-device translation framework. Review generated and translated text before relying on it.
Web browsing and messages
Opening a website or research link connects to that service. It may receive your IP address, browser/device information, cookies, login details you provide, and content you submit. Apple Messages and other services have their own privacy policies. The developer does not control their collection or retention. The app does not automatically send your notebook to visited websites.
Microphone and files
The app requests microphone access for note recordings when you choose to use them. You can deny or revoke this permission in system privacy settings. You select files to import through system pickers. Selected content is copied into notebook storage as required for the feature.
Sharing and exported copies
When you export or use AirDrop, Messages, or another sharing destination, the selected content is passed to the service or recipient you choose. Those copies are outside the notebook’s control. Check the recipient and file before sending. Temporary export files may remain until the operating system clears temporary storage.
Retention, deletion, and backups
Content remains in local storage until you remove it or remove the app’s stored data. Autosave, recovery backups, iCloud copies, and user-created exports may retain earlier versions. Recoverable deleted items can remain in Trash. Delete Permanently removes the project from normal recovery within the app, but does not erase independent exports, older backups, separately retained attachment files, or copies held by recipients. Manage those locations separately if you need to remove every copy.
Your choices and security
You can use the bundled Bible and local writing features offline, leave iCloud off, keep optional system Writing Tools off, decline media permissions, and avoid embedded websites. Protect your device and Apple account with their available security controls. No app can guarantee that a lost, compromised, or shared device will keep content private.

Information you voluntarily submit through the developer website is handled through that website and its service providers. This policy will be updated when the app’s data practices change; the effective date above identifies this version.
