The permissive will of God: This is the case when God has “allowed” certain types of events, situations, or actions to take place. God’s permissive will is allowed to occur when the subjects of God’s kingdom are unwilling to obey God’s established law. When Adam sinned, he went from a state of perfection to a state of imperfection, which was brought about by his own choice. The imperfect state resulted in Adam and Eve having a different Master because of their sinful natures [Romans 5:12; 6:23]. Upon their entrance into this realm, they were under a “permissive will of God” that placed them in a totally different state. God was no longer their God and ruler, and they would suffer the consequences of what they’d done. God did advise them not to eat of the forbidden fruit, but the decision to do so was freely made by them. In Genesis 2:17, God, who became their Judge, applied the consequences of their transgression to them [Genesis 3:16-17]. Satan knew that as long as Adam was under the perfect will of God, he would not be able to control him. Satan himself took it upon himself to deceive the woman and, through her, coerce Adam into betraying God. The Scriptures do not reveal this, but there must have been an examination of the lives of Adam and Eve, and the result was that the influence over Eve was the key point for the control of Adam. The permissive will of God is at work when any creature deviates from the perfect will of God. Lucifer and the fallen angels made a willful decision to step out of the perfect will of God and now walk under the permissive will of God. They broke God’s law and willfully sinned, and they were cast out of God’s heaven, and Satan became the ruler of all who are in rebellion against God [Isaiah 14:12-14; Luke 10:19; Revelation 12:7-12]. Many people, who do not know how God’s established laws work, place the blame on God when some catastrophic event takes place. They ask, “Where was God when that event happened? God was always in the same place where He has always been in the past. The question is, where do people stand in relation to God when this happens? The divine laws are being fulfilled whether we agree with them or not. We are in a world where sexual promiscuity is corrupting more and more people. Social and political corruption is reaching the highest levels of its kind. A world that is motivated only by material things, power and fame. This is a system that has the power to seduce all of those who are lost. Unfortunately, many of the believers are also being sucked into this corrupt system as well. It is very difficult for a person who does not have a strong spiritual foundation in the Lord to reject this system. And just like Adam who, after he sinned, tried to blame God for his failure by saying: “The woman whom thou gavest me to be with thee, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat” Genesis 3:12. We must get rid of the sinful world’s mentality of excusing ourselves by blaming God for events that occur because of our disobedience. Allow me to give you a biblical example that clearly shows God’s permission as a result of man’s actions.
